Relatório de estágio curricular supervisionado em medicina veterinária: áreas de clínica veterinária, clínica reprodutiva, medicina veterinária preventiva, diagnóstico post mortem

Abstract

The following report contains a description of the main activities carried out during the Supervised Curricular Internship in Veterinary Medicine, covering the areas of Veterinary Clinic, Reproductive Clinic, Preventive Veterinary Medicine, Post Mortem Diagnosis, planning and organization of rural property. The internship was carried out at the company Nutre Saúde e Produção Animal, located in the city of São Jorge D'Oeste, Paraná, under the supervision of Veterinary Doctor Abílio Galvão Trindade Ferreira and co-supervision of Vet. Marcelo Trindade Ferreira, under the institutional guidance of Prof. Vet. Dr. Guilherme De Medeiros Bastos, during the period from September 23, 2014 to December 23, 2014, completing the workload of 450 hours. During the internship, 197 appointments were made in the area of Veterinary Clinic, 1,469 cases attended to in the area of Reproductive Clinic, 518 cases in Preventive Veterinary Medicine, 117 cases in Bovine Podiatry, 36 Surgical Procedures, six Post Mortem diagnoses and 93 visits to rural properties, totaling 2,526 activities carried out during the internship. This report presents a discussion on three relevant topics in dairy farming: foot diseases, post-puerperal endometritis and the analysis of the composition of some dairy herds that were monitored during the internship. The internship allowed the monitoring of some of the main problems in dairy farming, in addition to providing daily monitoring of the routine of the veterinarian who works in the field.
