Pronunciar o mundo : diálogos entre a teoria Freireana e a praxis educativa em instituição popular, o "cursinho" pré - universitário emancipa, de Porto Alegre, RS

Abstract

The questions of this work refer to one of the institutions of Popular Education of the Rede Emancipa, the Pre-University Course Emancipa, located in Porto Alegre, RS. It permeates the dilemmas that arise when the coherence between its praxis, its nature and its function is questioned, dialoguing with the disturbing connections that inhabit this experience of Popular Education. It asks about the (im)possibilities of harmonizing its supposedly di alogical praxis and its hypothetically excluding function when preparing for the Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (National High School Exam - ENEM) test, thus working under a mercantile logic. By selecting the best grades to enter public universities, other pre-universities - not institutions of Popular Education - reinforce this model. This finding demanded to investigate, together with the voices of participants of the Course Emancipa, a dilemma that arises: on the one hand, the dialogic actions based on the educator Paulo Freire, which paradoxically guide him; on the other hand, it worked on the logic of com petition. Thus, dialogues were interwoven, in the lived and in the told, narrating the daily life and the praxis of this Popular institution, from the voices of a coordinator, a student and two former students. The qualitative research used the Ethnographic Method and its instruments; observation, field diary and semi-structured interviews, recorded through digital platforms. The testimonies of the course participants showed a dialogical orienta tion, discarding the dominant orientation in the common Pre Entrance Exam, both in its praxis and in its contents, methodologies, cultural formation and reception. The voices of those involved “pronounced” worlds full of meanings of dignifying life beyond the class room, showing the impact of this type of experience in affective, bonding, existential and emancipatory terms and how much this specific orientation transformed the lives of the witnesses.
